Opel dominate in the final of the European Junior Championship

Zlín.  The ADAC Opel Rallye Junior team finished the Junior European Rally Championship (FIA ERC Junior) 2015 with another brilliant performance. The Swedish Opel Works pilot Emil Bergkvist (Torsåker) and his co-pilot Joakim Sjöberg (Ösmo), who had incidentally already clinched the Junior EM title, won the Barum Czech Rally Zlín in the east of the Czech Republic. Their brand colleagues Aleks Zawada from Poland and his French passenger Cathy Derousseaux took third place in a privately competing ADAM R2.

ADAC Procar: Fredrik Lestrup is the Champion of Division One

The Sachsenring was the place where champions were made in DTC this weekend! After Steve Kirsch was able to secure the title for himself in Division Three yesterday, it was Fredrik Lestrup's turn today. The Swede is the new Division one champion. Starting from the pole position, he took the lead and once again completed a start-finish victory. "It was a bit narrow at the start, since Leidinger had taken off very well," Lestrup tells us. "I was able to stay in front, though, and finish the race relatively calmly." Johannes Leidinger came in second before Reinhard Nehls, who thus acquired his first podium position of the season. Heiko Hammel was fourth, unable to collect enough points to delay the decision about the championship a little longer. "We fought with blunt weapons and were unable to make our Fiesta give everything. We couldn't do any more than collect points this weekend," says Hammel. Lestrup was very happy about his victory after the prize ceremony – and of course about the title: "To be honest, I would have preferred getting it in the direct fight against Hammel and Vukovic, though." Milenko Vukovic was unable to participate in the race. A stone had punched a hole into his gearbox during his trip into the gravel bed yesterday. The team only found out after today's qualifying, and didn't want to risk any consequential damage.

A hot battle for the vice title commences at the Baltic Sea

Rüsselsheim/Munich. The champion has been named, but the battle for the vice championship in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup 2015 is all the hotter for it. 86 points are still left to be won in the two remaining runs of the season, mathematically leaving a dozen drivers eligible for the vice title behind Julius Tannert. The formula for success is: maximum attack, zero mistakes. It's much more easily read than done.
The best chance for the vice championship is currently assigned to Finn Samuli Vuorisalo, who did the trick of standing on the winning podium five times already in his first season in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup. Then there is Belgian Yannick Neuville, whose account includes two zeros, but also the victory in the ADAC Hessen Rallye Vogelsberg as well as two other podium positions.
