Formula 1 star Nico Hülkenberg and RAVENOL Managing Director Paul Becher

Dear Customers, Partners and Friends,

2020 has been an unusual year. The Covid-19 virus outbreak at the beginning of the year posed significant personal and financial challenges and required us to make a huge effort – we have all done an exceptional job!

Now, at the end of the year, and despite the current situation in the world, we are trying to stay positive and keep looking to the future with confidence. Together with you, we want to take the opportunity to start the new year full of optimism and solidarity. Naturally, we really do hope that we will be able to see each other in person next year – at trade fairs, meetings and visits.

RAVENOL Managing Director Paul Becher: “In these difficult times, we should come closer together as a society despite distancing rules, and offer help and support wherever they are urgently required. By supporting the “Fruchtalarm” project, we want to give a helping hand to those who are always working with great commitment on behalf of us all to put a smile on the faces of children who suffer from cancer.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to Nico Hülkenberg, who stepped in to join our partner team in Formula 1 at short notice for two races and who also wishes to send virtual greetings to the “Fruchtalarm” project.

The “Fruchtalarm” project – What's it all about?

Ten years ago, “Fruchtalarm” was launched in the neighbouring city of Bielefield by project initiator Marcel Lossie. Once a week, a mobile cocktail bar for children does the rounds of 31 children’s cancer wards throughout Germany. Colourful and tasty fruit cocktails are created using various juices, nectars and syrups. The young patients mix these colourful drinks of their own creation at their bedsides. “Fruchtalarm” therefore encourages activity, autonomy and a zest for life and offers variety to these seriously ill children and young people who live with a day-to-day clinical life determined by others.

Throughout Germany, 260 volunteers aged from 18 to 68, known as “Fruchties”, make “Fruchtalarm” happen for children and young people suffering from cancer. In 2019 more than 1,400 visits were made during which over 45,000 cocktails were mixed, reaching more than 12,000 children and young people.

RAVENOL and Nico Hülkenberg wish you a happy and reflective Christmas and a great New Year!
