Tannert celebrates the “mid-term championship“
Julius Tannert extended his lead in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup. It was the third victory of the season for the Saxon after leader Jacob Madsen's ride. Neuville and Vuorisalo found themselves on the podium once again, and Mandel had a strong debut. With his third victory of the season in four races, Julius Tannert markedly extended his lead in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup overall ranking at the ADAC Cosmo Rallye Wartburg. The 25 year-old from Zwickau and his Luxembourgian passenger Jennifer Thielen turned in a convincing race right in front of the gates of the Opel ADAM production plant in Eisenach, profiting from their competitors' bad luck. The Dane Jacob Lund Madsen, who had led the Cup ranking, ended up in a ditch in his Cup Adam during the eighth special stage (WP). The Pole Jerzy Tomaszczyk, second in the Rallye Thuringia behind Tannert taking second place in the table, hit a guardrail in WP1, throwing away the chance of a good placing early on.

ADAC Masters Weekend at the Nürburgring
The 5th event in the ADAC GT Masters will take place this coming weekend, from the 14th to the 16th of August, at the historic Nürburgring circuit. The participants will race along the approximately 3.63 km-long Nürburgring track in two ADAC GT Masters championship races, as well as the training sessions. Both races will be broadcast LIVE on Saturday and Sunday at 13:15 on the free-to-air Sport1 TV channel. RAVENOL works in this series, which is not for works teams but exclusively for private teams, together with two teams. The C. Abt Racing team uses three Audis R8 LMS ultras and the Czech Senkyr team uses a BMW Z4 GT3. Both vehicle types already have a successful past in this race series with a variety of victories. The Audi R8 is the most successful sports-car model of this series with 16 victories since 2009.
