This coming week-end, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship begins its new season. The first three championship races of 2014 are to be staged at the British Formula 1 racing circuit at Silverstone within the scope of the WEC (World Endurance Championship). The series is considered by drivers as one of the most important stations on the way to the King's class of motor sport – Formula 1. A total of 30 drivers have enrolled and the races are to be held on tracks in Germany, England, France, Italy, Belgium, Austria and Russia. Since the beginning of this season, RAVENOL is one of the series‘ official partners and are, as last season too, technical partners of the Van Amersfoort Racing team. The drivers' team consists of three drivers: 19 year-old American Gustavo Menezes drove last season for Frits van Amersfoort, at that time still in the German Formula ATS 3 Cup. The Dutchman Jules Szymkowiak (18) has arrived from The Formula BMW Talent Cup. From cart racing comes 16 year-old Max Verstappen. He's created a sensation during tests at the Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring. Max is supported by his prominent driver Jo Verstappen. The ex-Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen drove 107 Grand Prix between 1994 and 2003, and in 1994 was a team colleague of Michael Schumacher at Benetton.
