After the Le Mans 24hRace is prior to the Nürburgring 6h Race.
This weekend, the FIA World Endurance Championship, WEC, will stop at the Nürburgring for the third time – and RAVENOL contests the FIA WEC season together with Team ByKolles. With a new front-wheel suspension, a modified aero package and RAVENOL lubricantsin the respective units, Team ByKOLLES and its drivers Oliver Webb (Great Britain) Marco Bonanomi (Italy) and Dominik Kraihamer (Austria) race in the highest category, the LMP1 class.
‘LE MANS Prototype 1 ( LMP 1) races are sports-car races on Formula One level: the pinnacle of endurance racing features two different kinds of vehicles: on the one hand the works entered hybrid prototypes with Energy Recovery System, ERS – that also has been used in F1 since 2014 – and on the other the vehicles of independent team that don’t feature a hybrid system. The minimum weight of the latter amounts according to the regulations to 855kg. The regulations allow using different propulsion technologies and engine types as well as hybrid systems. For instance, it allows the use of a temporary all-wheel-drive system.
