A globally unique training and expertise centre relies on engine, gearbox and further oils as well as other operating fluids supplied by lubricant experts RAVENOL.
The FFSA Academy situated right at the legendary circuit of Le Mans was founded as early as 1993 to prepare young drivers and mechanics from all over the world for making it to the very top in motor racing. One of the drivers who learned their trade at the FFSA is F1 driver Pierre Gasly who currently is racing for the Scuderia Toro Rosso and was signed by Red Bull Racing for the 2019 season. There he will replace Daniel Ricciardo and be teamed-up with Max Verstappen.
In addition to the renowned young-driver promotion programme, the FFSA Academy also holds an individual single-seater series: the F4 French Championship.
The F4 French Championship is an FIA certified championship that offers drivers with a minimum age of 15 years the chance of already scoring points for the Formula One driving license, the so-called Super License. The championship is contested at seven racetracks in France and other European countries with single-seaters designed and built by the French manufacturer Mygale (known as manufacturer of the Formula BMW and Formula Honda vehicles) and powered by Renault 2.0L F4R engines. The optimum lubrication of the engine is achieved with the fully synthetic multigrade oil RAVENOL RSS SAE 10W-60 that features the special USVO® technology and is based on PAO (poly-alpha-olefin). Meanwhile, the sequential 6-speed gearbox supplied by Mygale Renault relies on the RAVENOL Getriebeoel SLS SAE 75W-140 GL 5 LS. Special additives ensure limited-slip properties, the ability to cope with high working-pressure, constant viscosity, low foam generation and gearbox-heating reduction.
