The European Championship is just around the corner

Tamino Bergmeier makes an impression on Ravenol motorsport manager, Martin Huning

The young motor racer from Melle and current German Rotax MAX Challenge champion, Tamino Bergmeier, will in future be able to draw upon the experience of RAVENOL, the successful motorsport oil manufacturer. On a first encounter at one of Germany’s own indoor-carting tracks in Werther, motorsports director Martin Huning was first convinced of the 12 year old’s capabilities.

“The sports director of a  touring car series, who I also worked with in the carting scene,  recommended I get to know Tamino some time and find out whether it was possible to back him.  I had already heard something about him and his earlier success spoke for itself. Tammy is not only extremely fast but he also has a very distinct sense of coordination. He possesses vast technical knowledge, works very calmly and is therefore completely goal-orientated. This approach already reminds me very much of some of the successful Formula 3 drivers,” stated Martin Huning.

Tamino Bergmeier: “I am very happy that RAVENOL has taken notice of me and the technical support means a great deal to me. Apart from that, however, Mr. Huning also has the best connections with important motorsport teams, from the junior classes in Formula racing right up to the top international series. He also knows what else is important for a racing driver, apart from “being fast” and can give me valuable tips."

The current season of the Rotax MAX Challenge in which Tammy will complete his rookie year in the junior class, is passing by very satisfactorily. He is working his way race by race further up the league table and achieving his goal of getting closer to the top ten. In a starting field of up to 37 drivers, this native of Melle currently occupies 14th position.

However, the season’s high point for Tamino this year is only just around the corner: The Rotax MAX Challenge European Open Championships from 7-10 August, 2014 in Austria.  Here, this young man from Melle will be able to pit himself against international competition abroad for the first time. However, he will be blasting off again for the last time in the mini class, where he is competing under German colours as champion.
