Strong interest in Ravenol Media Award

“Young drivers get a chance to prepare for the next steps in their racing career in a professional environment. They expand their skills as Formula drivers working closely with the racing cars, the engineers and the media.” This is what the Formula 3 Association is about. However, the ATS Formula 3 Cup is also dedicated to being the general qualification for motorsports away from the track. That is why, the lubricant manufacturer Ravenol and the Formula 3 Association created the Ravenol Media Award. Running until the end of October, the project is attracting strong interest.

The Ravenol Media Award addresses all drivers currently contesting the ATS Formula 3 Cup. Focussing on communications, the applicants should be as creative as possible. It is not about carrying out the most expensive project or making a great visual impact. Creativity is the key and all applicants should try their best within their possibilities, e.g. in press and media relations, events, sponsoring or social media. “These days, being fast on the racetrack is not enough anymore on your way to the top. The complete package needs to be just right and dealing with the media is key in that,” says Robert Seiwert, managing editor of Motorsport-Magazin.com. “The Ravenol Media Award is a great opportunity for the young drivers. They get a chance to present themselves in a creative way and spark the interest of teams and partners. However, they should stay true to their personality.”

Reliable partner of the ATS Formula 3 Cup

The Ravenol brand with its catchy logo has long become a well-known name in motorsports, gradually expanding their involvement across several series since the start of the activities in 2004. Today, partners of the Ravensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH, the company that develops, produces and distributes products with the brand name Ravenol, include famous racing series and teams. Ravenol has been the exclusive lubricant partner of the ATS Formula 3 Cup since 2011. Martin Huning, Ravenol Motorsport Director and member of the jury: “The drivers contesting the ATS Formula 3 Cup are at a place in their careers where they can set the course for their future,” explains Martin Huning, Ravenol Motorsport Director. “We would like to inspire them to demonstrate their skills away from the track in order to put themselves forward for greater challenges.

The award is supposed to be an acknowledgement of those efforts.”

Presentation at the Essen Motor Show

The applicants will have to submit their project paper by October 31st, 2014. Then the jury, which includes Katrin Wolff, Managing Editor of Auto Bild Motorsport magazine, Robert Seiwert, Martin Huning and Bettina Eichhammer, press officer of the ATS Formula 3 Cup, will decide who has qualified for the Ravenol Media Award. The highlight will be the presentation of the award to the winner at the 2014 Essen Motor Show.
